Linux System Engineer (m/f/d)
Your assignment:
- As a Linux system engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the administration and further development of our highly available Linux client & server environment, including OS lifecycle management.
- You will work on the further development of existing Linux environments and implement new requirements and concepts.
- You will work independently and on your own responsibility on projects such as the migration from RHEL7/8 to RHEL9.
- You are responsible for the support of Linux basic services (e.g. NFS, Samba).
- You will administer our VDI infrastructure and take care of user and rights management as well as network security.
Your Profile:
- You have successfully completed an apprenticeship (e.g. IT specialist for system integration) or a degree in IT or a comparable qualification.
- Ideally, you have several years of professional experience in the administration of a RHEL-based Linux environment.
- You have good knowledge of Linux basic services (Samba, NFS, LDAP connection), automation/orchestration of Linux clients (ideally Puppet) and Linux VDI (ideally OpenText Exceed TurboX).
- You have an affinity for sustainable solutions that fit the IT security baseline, as well as lean processes.
- With your communicative and cooperative nature, it is easy for you to support national and international users and to communicate at different levels.
- Good German and English skills round off your profile.
