With over 25 years of in-house production expertise and a legacy of innovation, we deliver automotive-grade sensor and actuator solutions tailored to the needs of tomorrow’s mobility.
Our breakthrough in 1993 – the first CMOS-based Hall-effect sensor – marked the beginning of our leadership in magnetic sensing. Since then, we have shipped more than 7 billion sensors worldwide, ranging from programmable Hall switches to 3D magnetic field sensors and stray-field robust linear and rotary sensors.
From our headquarters and manufacturing site in Freiburg (Germany), we support customers worldwide in automotive and industrial markets, offering system expertise and flexible integration options across key applications.

Our Legacy
From the First German Transistor to Future Mobility
Our story began in 1952, when Intermetall was founded in Düsseldorf – Europe’s first company to produce transistors. By the early 1990s, we had transitioned from consumer electronics to automotive-grade sensor solutions, leading the way with innovations such as the first programmable Hall-effect sensor and later, system-on-chip motor controllers.Today, as part of the TDK Group, we are shaping the future with a focus on electrification, automation, and intelligent motion control.
