HAL® 83xP
HAC® 830
Robust Multi-Purpose Linear Hall-Effect Sensors
Overview
The HAL 83xP family consists of robust, multipurpose Hall sensors for linear displacement and angle detection below 90°. They offer flexibility through analog and PWM outputs and a programmable lowpass filter. Thanks to high temperature stability and the ability to detect low magnetic fields, these sensors are suitable for harsh environments and can help reduce overall system costs. All new family members build on TDK-Micronas’ long experience in linear Hall-effect sensors, full inhouse manufacturing and automotive proven zero ppm track record.
Operation & features
Major characteristics - magnetic field range, sensitivity, output quiescent voltage and output voltage range - are programmable in nonvolatile memory. Each device features a temperature compensated Hall plate with choppered offset compensation, an A/D converter, digital signal processing, a D/A converter with output driver, an EEPROM with redundancy and lock function for calibration data, a serial interface for EEPROM programming, and protection devices at all pins.
Qualification & packaging
The sensor can be easily calibrated to precisely match its output to the input signal and to compensate for application variations (magnet positioning, temperature drift), enabling high accuracy operation across the full temperature range. Calculation of individual sensor characteristics and EEPROM programming can be performed with a PC and the TDK-Micronas application kit. Designed for hostile industrial and automotive applications (TJ = −40 °C up to 170 °C), the HAL 83xP family is AECQ100 qualified and available in the very small leaded RoHS package TO92UT.
